Sandy Willie

Sandy Willie is wati Anangu, a senior Aboriginal man from the Central and Western Desert area of Australia. Born in the bush, he grew up to become a stockman and in his travels learnt to paint from some of the founders of the Australian Central Desert art movement in Papunya. He began painting seriously in 2007 and since then has gained acclaim through a number of exhibitions. His skills have been passed on through the Tjukurpa, the Law and way of life governing his country.
