Grant Cooley is wati Anangu, an Aboriginal man who grew up on his family outstation near the community of Amata on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Lands of northern South Australia. He started carving in 2004, under the tutelage of his parents, renowned crafters Lulu and Billy Cooley. Grant is a qualified a Pitjantjatjara language interpreter for the Aboriginal Interpreter Service as well as working on country as a ranger.
