Doris Teamay was born and grew up in Kaltukatjara, the Pitjantjatjara community of Docker River which lies in the Petermann Ranges west of Uluru.  Her father is well known painter and spokesman for Uluru, Malya Teamay. As well as painting, Doris also enjoys wood carving.
